Central Recreation Center Pool
Lehrer Architects transformed the Central Recreation Center Pool in South Los Angeles, meeting the community's pressing need for play and exercise space. The renovated pool complex now stands prominently with 30-foot-tall shade towers visible from surrounding streets, no longer concealed behind a gym building. The front entrance features brilliant colors and a shimmering shade canopy, creating a welcoming environment. The facility, now a gleaming monument, boasts a cheerful bathhouse , colorful pool deck and towering shade structures - the pool as a cherished community haven. The project began by replacing the existing pool, and upgrading equipment, systems, and ADA modifications.
